Jim Porter's 31 Ford Rat Rod was built at the shop of
Krazy
Kreations in Denver, Colorado. Some say beat-up rat rods are "where its at,"
and others like Rick Murray from Denver, just go ahead and finish them.
There is a culture for rat rods that says "make it as ugly and loud as
you can and then you are a hot rod builder." Well, that's just not true.
An ugly exposed weld is not cool looking, just half-assed. Rust just
means your too lazy or inexperienced to to do the repair. Rat rods are
made to look the way hot rods were built in the fifties and sixties but
the truth is many of those guys knew that appearance mattered. In those
days it was about economics, in today's times you can't have 383 stroker
motor and not be able to afford some sand paper.
